Beginner experience for younger children

Shorter version of ‘Horsing Around For Kids’

Great introduction to horses for tiny tots

There is something about horses that many kids just love. Their beauty and gentleness, combined with their enormous size and great strength is a combination that fascinates children and adults alike.

If your young child loves horses, this introductory experience a great way to let them get up close with our gentlest horses in a safe and professionally organised way.

The session is primarily done on the ground and focuses on natural horsemanship and our relationship with these wonderful equine friends. No prior experience necessary.

What’s included in this experience:

  • Learn how to make friends with a big animal like a horse
  • Meet and groom and smell and feel the horses
  • Safe horse ride on a lead
  • Make new friends (2 and 4 legged ones)

We will meet the horses. We will walk them to the grooming post and tie them up. We will stand right next to them and brush their soft fur, and comb their pretty mane. We’ll talk to them, we’ll listen to the sounds they make, and smell and feel the horses.

Some kids like to do horse riding – they can sit on the horse’s back and we lead them around. Some kids like to just sit on the horse’s back or lie on their tummy up there.

Often our very experienced young assisting instructor (my daugther) will join in with her joyful energy, which is a great addition to the delivery of the program.

We will gauge where the kids are at, and will adjust things accordingly. The program is approximately one hour long.

This program is for littler kids and last about an hour.

Get up close with our gentlest horses in a safe and professionally organised way

$65 per child

Minimum 2 children, maximum 4 (can also be booked as singe session at $130).

what to wear

Please wear closed-toe walking shoes and comfortable outdoor clothes suitable for the day’s weather.
